Twelfth round of the Unlim 500+ Car Festival was held on May 31 — June 1 at the Dmitrovsky practice ground near Moscow. 1-km races of supercars have already been held for 5 years in a row and the organisers of the anniversary season had prepared special events for more than 3,000 spectators who came to watch the tournament. Albert Demchenko — the famous Russian luger, the Merited Master of Sports, seven-time Olympian, vice-champion of the Olympic Games in Sochi — participated in the event for the first time behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Also for the first time, speed and time record-setting attempts have been registered during the festival. Dmitry Samorukov became the overall winner of the 12th Unlim 500+ event — he managed to cover the distance of 1 km in 15.781 seconds.

We are glad to announce that Olympics luge vice-champion Albert Demchenko will participate in 12th Unlim 500+ festival as a driver of absolutely new 7th generation of Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

We are glad to inform you that Albert Demchenko — the famous Russian luger, the Merited Master of Sports, vice-champion of the Olympic Games in Sochi — will take part together with other participants in timed runs of the Unlim 500+ Stage 12 “Dozen”.

For the attention of mass media representatives! We would like to inform you that media credential registration for the 12th round of the Unlim 500+ Festival “Dozen” has begun. The festival will be held on May 31 — June 1, 2014 at the NAMI Dmitrovsky practice ground.

12th stage of the Unlim 500+ Festival of Speed will be held on May 31 — June 1, 2014 on the dynamometric runway of the Dmitrovsky practice ground. This year there are a few changes in the event regulations. The first and most important change —the racing distance will be reduced from 1 mile to 1 kilometre during the Festival. This measure was introduced to increase the safety during the events. Secondly, there are changes in classification of participating vehicles. Starting from the 12th stage of Unlim 500+ the classes will be formed according to the type of drive of the vehicle.

At the end of the year the hand starts reaching for a pen or a keyboard on its own to sum up all the results. It’s time to look back, make an evaluation of everything that had been done and map out a plan for the future.

New 1 mile distance World Record has just been set — 20.845 seconds at 409 km/h (254 mph) when crossing the finish line! One more world record has also been set during this race — speed of a Lamborghini when crossing 1 mile distance finish line. ¼ mile result is 8.814 seconds at 289 km/h (179.6 mph)! This result was demonstrated by Leonid V. driving his Lamborghini Gallardo Nera during the second racing day on Tympaki airport runway in Greece. We have already described the first day when the best demonstrated 1 mile time was 21.7 seconds at 397 km/h when crossing the finish line.

Unlim 500+ permanent participant Leonid V. continues forging ahead to his goal — cover 1 mile distance in less than 21.00 seconds. Let us remind that right now Leonid holds both Unlim 500+ records — best 1 mile time and top speed at crossing the finish line. His best result is 21.8 seconds @ 400+ km/h. But after achieving this result during Unlim 500+ summer training day Leonid set another super-task — to go 1 mile is less than 21 seconds.

Due to infringement of Sport cars category admission requirements, Dragtimes administration decided to disqualify Ivan I. driving Nissan GT-R AMS Stage 2 for one-year term starting from December 1, 2013.

On November 16–17, 2013 Unlim 500+ Training day was held in Europe. Cars from Russia and Europe were competing for the best 1 mile time. But apart from recording 1 mile time the Race America equipment also measures the speed at crossing the finish line. Club 300+ comprises the cars able to reach the speed of 300 km/h and more by the end of 1 mile distance.

The first overseas Unlim 500+ event was held on November 16–17, 2013. The participants and promoters decided to organise it in the form of a training day meaning there would be free practice sessions without dividing into categories and finding the winner. However, as experience has shown, it did not prevent the participants from improving their results.

Our Greek holidays came to an end. Right now when you are reading these lines the cars have already been loaded on a car trailer which is going to take them back to Russia. Unlim 500+ sums up the results of its first trial field event “Destination Greece”.

The first day of Unlim 500+ Europe Destination Greece is over. All in all there were 19 participants: 6 cars from Europe and the rest were from Russia. Local participants were competing during the first part of the day but in the afternoon it was time for the powerful and beautiful Dragtimes supercars to line up for the qualification runs. By the way, live videos were broadcasted on Youtube. It was also possible to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

At the end of the last week two autocarts with the fastest Unlim 500+ cars left to Greece. 16–17 of November the European Unlim 500+ will take place on the island of Crete.

For the first time Dragtimes team conducts the European stage of Unlim 500+ and its destination is Greece.

The fastest Unlim 500+ cars from Russia and also cars from Europe will compete in 1 mile distance races. The European stage of Unlim 500+ gives a unique chance to find out what your car is capable of in comparison with the most powerful cars of our planet.

A number of changes were made in CLUB 300+ as a result of UNLIM 500+ Training Day that took place on October 13. CLUB 300+ is the special class that includes all cars with 1 mile exit speed of 300km/h and higher.

As considered by most of the participants, the winners of 11th stage of UNLIM 500+ were defined by both the best results of UNLIM 500+ and the results of the Training Day that took place on October 13.

October 13, 2013 became the day when UNLIM 500+ training rides took place on dynamometric runway of Dmitrov’s ground. Despite mid-autumn, the weather was warm and sunny. 22 cars took part in the races and while almost all of them showed their own best results, some even set world records.
