We are glad to inform you that Albert Demchenko — the famous Russian luger, the Merited Master of Sports, vice-champion of the Olympic Games in Sochi — will take part together with other participants in timed runs of the Unlim 500+ Stage 12 “Dozen”.
According to Albert, he likes trying himself in various sports connected with speed and adrenaline, and has even piloted a MiG-29 aircraft; however, here below, never before has he been able to reach such high speeds as demonstrated by the cars at the Dmitrovsky practice ground during the Unlim 500+ events. It will be another step in testing his own potential and the potential of the car. We will find out later the make and model of the car entered by Demchenko.
Participation of the renowned sportsman in the Unlim 500+ festival ensures its high level and places additional emphasis upon the serious approach of the promoters in organising this annual event.

Biographical background:
Albert Demchenko holds the title of the Merited Master of Sports in Russia; he is a three-time vice-champion of the Olympic Games in 2006 and 2014, two-time world vice-champion of 2012, three-time European champion (2006, 2010, and 2012), World Cup holder in 2005, and multiple winner of Russian championships.
Albert Demchenko took part in seven Olympic Games in a row (in 1992, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014) thus setting the record in the number of performances in the Winter Games over the entire history of the Olympics. A similar record was set at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi by the Japanese ski jumper Noriaki Kasai. In 1992 Demchenko competed in two-seat sleds, in 1994 and 1998 he competed both in single- and two-seat sleds (in 1992 and 1994 with Alexey Zelensky, in 1998 with Semen Kolobayev), while in 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014 he participated only in the single-seater competitions (in 2014 he also took part in the team relay).
In the 2004/2005 season, he clinched the title of the Luge World Cup champion. He was also second one time and third twice.
On February 24, 2014, Albert Demchenko was awarded with the Medal of Honour for substantial contribution in development of physical culture and sports and high achievements in sports at the 2014 XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
