Next-generation Mazda MX-5 roadster will make its debut on September 3. It will be dedicated to the model’s 25th anniversary.
The company does not take the wraps off the roadster so far, although the first teaser shot with the car hidden under the cover has already been published. Mazda Australia managing director has stirred up even more interest by saying the new model «will look nothing like» its predecessor.
A number of rumours suggest a 1.5-litre or 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine to sit under the bonnet. By the way, the premiere will shed 100 kg from the previous platform and will still have a 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear axles. It will feature a lower centre of gravity and the most compact unit arrangement in Mazda’s history.
