The standard new-generation BMW X1 will feature front-wheel drive layout, while the all-wheel drive layout will come as an option.
The Bavarian company decided to do a big job and abandon the longitudinal engine layout in favour of a transverse engine mounting in the new X1. They also plan to modify the car’s exterior together with that. Under the bonnet, the facelifted X1 will carry a three- or four-cylinder engine delivering from 137 to 234 hp.
Quite possibly, BMW will build special modifications for Russia and China fitted with a third row of seats for the never-ending flow of passengers.
