Mankind has always had a craving for a competition, from races to race horses. After the invention of the automobile, the first time the competition took place on a self-propelled chariot over short distances. The reason is simple: the machine often broke and in general were extremely unreliable. Later they began to drive between the cities, and since 1898 — between the two capitals. Especially famous race in 1902 between Paris and Vienna, by adventurous participants. One of the cars was able to achieve the goal only because the mechanic was close to the same, the drivers left on the sidelines of stocks of gasoline and water.
But a special mark in the history of motor racing introduced the first race on a huge distance, which took place 109 years ago. Instigator of the competition made the French newspaper Le Matin, published in January 1907 an appeal: «Does anyone find capable to drive by car from Paris to Beijing? Route of 16 000 kilometers! The winner will receive 100 000 francs! „After all kinds of discussions, we decided not to start in Paris, and in Beijing, to the French capital to solemnly meet the winner. June 10, 1907, several international teams departed from Beijing, they pursued a dual objective: to reach the finish line and thus to prove that car as a new vehicle, is reliable. Race was won by Prince Scipione Borghese, who finished in Paris on August 10, 1907. Undoubtedly, the great adventure was the beginning of modern rallying and rally-raids.
Going back to basics, after two years of rally «Silk Road» the organizers announced a new round of the legendary marathon, which this year will take place on the route Moscow-Beijing! The participants will have to overcome 10735 kilometers in just two and a half weeks. «Silk Road» will transcontinental — the caravan will pass through 15 cities of Russia, Kazakhstan and China, connecting three tables are different: Moscow, Astana and Beijing?. The athletes will visit the picturesque Lake Balkhash, conquer the dunes of the Gobi Desert and mountain ranges of the Tien Shan, with the finish at the Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Boundless steppes, winding mountain serpentines, sandstones and complex dunes? Massifs will be a true test of strength.
In the race, 95 crews will perform on off-road vehicles and 25 trucks. In the truck competition, special attention will rightfully focused on the six crew of the Russian team «Kamaz-Master», one of which will go to the newest car bonnet layout. Pilot the new product will be the winner of the rally «Silk Road 2010» Eduard Nikolaev. Also on one of the «KAMAZ» will start a unique international crew, as part of the Chinese athletes (pilot and navigator Hunnin Hou Shen Xin) and Russian mechanics (Andrew Mokeev).
Three truck exhibits at the rally team «MAZ-SPORTavto», are expected to participate in the pilot Hino, Tatra, Renault. For Peugeot Sport will start in Moscow debut in the rally «Silk Road», the team will present the legendary Stephane Peterhansel and Sebastien Loeb. Yazeed Al-Rajhi will speak at the MINI All4 Racing Team X-Raid, and his partners named Aydin Rakhimbaev from Kazakhstan and Russian Vladimir Demyanenko. Among the Russian athletes also said Vladimir Vasiliev and Konstantin Zhiltsov, Eugenia Firsova, six-time national champion rally Sergey Uspensky.

Stéphane Le Bai, responsible for writing the road book, confidently said: «For 26 years of work in the world of rally-raids, I participated in the organization of many international competitions, and I can assure you that the Silk Way 2016 promises to be the best rally-raid in the world.
