Lexus is getting ready to launch production of its new-generation flagship LS sedan, which should look like a four-door sports car.
It is yet to be explained why Lexus decided to change its course from habitual comfort to something sportier. Maybe that was done to somehow cheer up its competitors.
The all-new LS will be built on the platform of the Lexus SC coupé. The sedan will be fitted with a 5.0-litre 450-hp V8, while its boosted version will carry an eight-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine delivering around 600 hp.
Sure enough, a hybrid modification is also implied. It will borrow the powerplant from the Lexus SC coupé. A fact worth mentioning is that the engineers from BMW will help the Japanese company reach the output of 500 hp.
The car is due to make its debut in 2016.
