The desire to build a fast race car of a small one still is very popular among automotive companies and tuners. Such cars are not always road legal, but, nevertheless, many people know about them — Renault 5 Turbo, MG Metro Turbo — legendary group B, Toyota Starlet Glanza, Honda City Turbo, VW Lupo GTi, Opel Corsa OPC — and other hot-hatches — products for motorsports and for daily use from automakers. We have already mentioned few small cars, but this one is very interesting as well.
This prototype is built on Audi A3 Quattro basis, as usual it has a rollcage and has an appearance of the classic Mini. Proportions, wheels, headlights — all this make it look classic. If you take a glance from afar — it looks like classic English city car, but with a strange Audi-style sticker Quattro. And the rear spoiler with diffuser…. and front splitter... Closer look shows that unreal can become real.
The main parts are taken from 1999 Audi A3. 1.8T engine, transmission with all wheel drive system, which was tuned to split the moment 50 \ 50 between the front and rear wheels. The engine has also been tuned — new pistons, connecting rods and manifolds, modified intake system, two Bosch 044 fuel pumps and 4 injectors capable each to pour almost a liter of fuel per minute — all this leads to great performance — 450 hp and 500 Nm at 1.5 bar. Radiator is place in the rear — four large air ducts provide good cooling on the track.
Suspension is fully adjustable — front coilvoers Mobek, rear — Bilstein, with separate springs and dampers. rollbars can be adjusted directly from the cabin in which everything is dedicated to sports — sports steering wheel, two Sparco seats, aluminum dashboard with a set of Auto Meter instruments, featuring everything you need, from the engine rpm data to water and oil temperature and boost.
Revolution Wheels with 5 spoked were chosen to preserve the authentic appearance of the Mini. Non-standard tires — Nankang 185/45R15 Ultra Spot NS-II — the only option that the owner was able to find in this size.
What I the result? A great show car for track days, with classic look and good handling with wheels placed in the corners of the body and combines a powerful and reliable engine and transmission, capable to convert liters of air and gasoline into the high power.
