Many cars were sold at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with 1954 Ferrari 375-Plus (on photo) and 1902 De Dietrich among them.
An auction held at the Festival raised a total amount of €28 million. The most expensive lot was 1954 Ferrari 375-Plus. It is fitted with a 4.9-litre 12-cylinder engine delivering 330 hp. In fact, it’s a 4.5-litre upgraded engine used in Formula 1 a while ago.
In 1954, this model claimed victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, came first in the Carrera Panamericana competition in the hands of Umberto Maglioli setting a speed record (he had an average speed of 222 km/h over the 365-km distance race). The value of the rare car was estimated at €13.5 million.
Among other lots, one could also find the 1902 De Dietrich purchased at the price of €1,245,430 and the Lamborghini Countach LP400 «Periscopio» Coupe sold for €1,189,540.
