Hybrid Infiniti supercar exists only in drawings

Yet again Nissan’s executive vice president Andy Palmer reminded about the hybrid Infiniti supercar based on Emerg-E prototype.

Yet again Nissan’s executive vice president Andy Palmer reminded about the hybrid Infiniti supercar based on Emerg-E prototype.

Andy Palmer told AutoExpress that they were still in need of a hybrid. However, no technical detail has been given apart from hinting at wireless charging system.

Well, production of Infiniti Emerg-E was due to be launched in 2015, but it seems it didn’t work out. Looks like there are no other projects apart from building a hybrid supercar. It is still uncertain, whether it is going to feature front- or mid-engined layout. It will be fitted with a V6 petrol-powered engine and several electric motors.

It's high time for Sebastian Vettel, appointed the company’s director of performance, to get down to business as it’s getting boring to keep listening to stories about building new models without any further progress.
