A real hunt for the BMW 3- and 4-series began in Moscow. Night-robbers get into cars and skin off all electric devices available. The owners lose steering wheels, multimedia systems, climate control units, gear shift knobs, air vents.
The victims noticed that thieves are well informed about the mounting and, what is obvious, dismounting of the equipment, as it is not rooted out but removed carefully.
Law-enforcement authorities confirm growth of similar thefts from Bavarian vehicles. However, there are no conclusions regarding this burst so far. Some experts assume that it might be beneficial for the suppliers of certain spare parts whose warehouses are glutted with goods. But in this case, it’s a rather uncivilised and filthy method to push up sales.
Meanwhile, we recommend the owners of the vehicles in question to exercise maximum caution.
