As reported by the The Detroit News quoting Roger Brown, interim President for Fisker, the bankrupt and liquidated hybrid car manufacturer, which was acquired by the Chinese Wanxiang Group in 2014, plans to return to the market of hybrid sports cars in 2015. Karma might be back on the road in mid-2015. As a reminder, the sedan is equipped with petrol-powered turbocharged engine delivering 260 hp and 2 electric motors producing together 403 hp.
According to bfm.ru, the station wagon Surf, with the technical specs identical to Karma, will be relaunched a year later. And by the year 2017 the company plans to develop and start producing a relatively affordable hybrid car Atlantic. The premiere is to be fitted with the powerplant consisting of a four-cylinder turbocharged BMW engine, 2 electric motors and lithium-ion batteries with the total output expected to be around 300 hp. The new car is going to cost twice as little as Karma, the price of which is around $100,000 at the moment.
What concerns the names of the models, the new owners of Fisker are contemplating whether they should leave the old ones or invent something new. The technological and assembling venues for the resurrected hybrid cars are also subject to discussion. In addition to that, the company will have to recruit new employees.
