Apple has filed a patent application for a new technology which would block the telephone while its owner is driving.
As reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, two methods can be used by this system to block a handheld computing device. First method involves an onboard camera which is going to watch the driver and will be able to determine when he or she takes the phone blocking immediately major functions of the mobile device. According to the second method, the system automatically blocks the phone when the engine is started. But it means that all mobile devices in the car would be locked out as well. The only possibility left is to make a call to a friend if the car is fitted with onboard computer.
