In 2015 Audi will launch the hybrid modification of А6 L e-tron sedan. The company revealed its hybrid back in 2012 at the Beijing Motor Show yet the production process dragged on. The prototype was fitted with 211-hp 2-litre turbocharged engine working along with 95-hp electric motor. The car can travel 50 km powered by electricity only. According to Motor Authority, the production L e-tron should have similar technical specs. The elongated sedan will be produced at the Chinese factory in Changchun and will go on sale also only in China.
As reported by auto.vesti.ru, Audi says it hopes for government support which is now devoting a lot of funds and aid to improve the environmental situation in the country. Well, the financial background plays its part here as well, as almost third of the company’s annual sales volume belongs to the Chinese market.
Everyone is happy now — most probably Audi is not going to suffer any financial losses and on the other hand it will take care of environmental issues.
