A few days ago Nissan GT-R R35 customised by the experts from the Extreme Turbo Systems tuning studio set new 1/4 mile world record — 7.81 seconds at 294.5 km/h when crossing the finish line! Let us remind that the previous record belonged to Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha Omega and was 7.98 seconds at the speed of 300 km/h. Noteworthy is the fact that the weight of the car tuned by AMS studio was seriously reduced thanks to using carbon fibre elements of the body and removal of the entire cabin. On the other hand, the GT-R tuned by ETS was not subject to weight reduction with only lightweight race seats installed which was actually counter-balanced by mounting the safety cage. Another interesting moment lies in the fact that the majority of the world’s fastest Nissan GT-Rs switched to using alternative engine control systems like, for instance, Syvecs or Motec. Meanwhile the fastest Nissan GT-R set its record on ¼ mile drag using factory supplied ECU and Cobb. Below you can see both the photo of the record-setting run’s speed slip and also the video of the run.
