The headquarters of Race America company is located in the Silicon Valley (San Jose, California). Race America equipment is produced in the USA only. In spite of our high level of confidence in Race America tools, we decided to perform system test in order to check its measuring accuracy. For this purpose we addressed the FSUE “All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Physical-Technical and Radiotechnical Measurements” — one of the leading national metrological institutes in Russia. Within the framework of the “Mutual recognition agreement on the national calibration and measuring standards and certificates issued by national metrological institutes” the quality management system of the FSUE “VNIIFTRI” is recognised by the Euro-Asian Cooperation of State Metrological Institutions (COOMET)..
In February 2014 the configuration of the Race America equipment used by our company was delivered to the FSUE “VNIIFTRI”. In the course of the tests 370 trial measurements were performed in the time frame from 1 to 99 seconds. In order to receive reliable information, 10 attempts performed in each time segment were used to generate mean values. Following the results of the tests, the reference mean error was found to be 0.0005 of a second. It can be said with confidence now that the configuration of the Race America equipment used by Dragtimes during all its events demonstrates the most precise results which is now confirmed by the certificate of quality of the Race America/Dragtimes timing system issued by the FSUE “VNIIFTRI”.
