Porsche considering Macan GTS

Top version in the current Macan lineup has Turbo in its name and is able to produce 400 hp. However, according to Worldcarfans, which quotes the company’s CEO Matthias Mueller, Porsche considers producing a more powerful modification of the new crossover. Moreover, by the end of 2014 the auto group plans to introduce an antipode to GTS — the “weakest” 4-cylinder version of Macan.

There is no information about the technical characteristics of the future GTS yet but taking into account the specs of Macan Turbo (400 hp, sprint to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, Sport Chrono trim), GTS modification should be impressive.

Increasing the model range in both “upward” and “downward” directions is part of the usual Porsche strategy, which also includes the company’s objective to surpass 200,000 annual deliveries in the nearest future. Porsche is planning to deliver 50,000 Macans by the end of 2015. If the demand increases, the auto group is ready to satisfy it.

What concerns the most affordable Macan version, it will be fitted with a 4-cylinder 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing around 220 hp.
