Journalists from the German automobile magazine AutoBild named three cars which had the fastest Sachsenring laps in 2013. Here they are — McLaren MP4–12C, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series and Porsche 911 Turbo S of the last generation. Though all three of them demonstrated similar results, the only technical feature they have in common is the type of transmission — 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. A few words about their powerplants. McLaren and Porsche are fitted with twin-turbo V8 and V6 but Mercedes-Benz has a powerful naturally-aspirated V8. The tests included not only the lap time, the journalists also made straight line acceleration measurements. Porsche took the lead in both disciplines by showing best lap time and phenomenal sprint.
