Various tuning studios have a passion for customising cars suitable for this purpose. But sometimes the imagination of the tuners goes too far and takes rather weird forms. Today we welcome: the authors and performers — Kahn Design; their swan song — Land Rover Defender Longnose producing 500 hp; folk lyrics.

The engineers from the British studio have already been working with Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles for quite a long time. This time they got hold of the maternal second uncle of the Russian UAZ, the brutal SUV Defender. The horsepower stated above is produced by the V-shaped 8-cylinder petrol engine. But as it could not be fitted in the standard engine room of the Defender, the bonnet was extended. As a matter of fact, this elongated front part gave the name of the model — Longnose.

The information about the origin of the motor, which inspired the engineers so much that they had to change the shape of the “nose” of the famous Defender, is not disclosed. The engine delivers power through a six-speed electronic gearbox. The “loaded” Defender is equipped with reinforced differentials and brakes. It now comes with wider wheel arches and racing seats together with the sports steering wheel.

There is still no information about the car’s technical specifications. The production of the three-door Longnose will be limited to 49 units. Each vehicle will sell for roughly $147,000.
