For many speed enthusiasts station wagons are intended for the entire family with lots of children in the back seat and a dog in the luggage compartment; or a farmer with a car full of young plants; or elderly people. Eat cake and have it too? “We can do that!” said the engineers from G-Power and created the fastest station wagon in the world. Anyway, it can show great results on the track or have straight line competitions with the most famous sports cars. But don’t forget to take the plants out of the luggage compartment and drop off your grandma!
G-Power tuning studio became famous for creating the super extreme versions of BMWs. Its engineers are fond of Bavarian cars so much that the firm’s model range includes an entire family of Hurricane vehicles consisting of the most powerful BMW M5 versions. And now it’s time for the new Hurricane to join this list.
Celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary, the engineers built the G-Power M5 Hurricane RR Touring, the fastest station wagon. Two superchargers working together with the 10-cylinder BMW M5 combustion engine allowed producing 820 hp and 790 Nm of torque. As a result, the tough powerplant is able to accelerate the car up to 362 km/h of top speed, with its authors claiming they had to introduce electronic limitation. It looks possible that the flying station wagon could demonstrate even better performance. But what it has is enough to claim for the title of the fastest station wagon in the world.
G-Power M5 Hurricane RR Touring weighs 2 tons, does the 0–100 km/h sprint in 4.4 seconds and accelerates to 300 km/h in just 25.6 seconds.
Needless to say, the right tuning is not only about the engine. The car now features new suspension with nine-way adjustability, very effective brakes with 396-mm disks, 20-inch Silverstone RS wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. On customer’s request the interior might be finished in leather and carbon fibre, the experts from G-Power can change the configuration of the front seats and introduce any in-car electronics except for the washing and dishwashing machines and refrigerators.
Those who can’t imagine their lives not only without supercars and high speeds but also without electronic devices will also remain satisfied. The studio developed its own application used to configure all adjustable elements of the G-Power M5 Hurricane RR Touring.
The price tag of such “country vehicle” is rather high. You might spend around €250,000 for an accomplished project. If you are not ready for the price or power like that, which is also possible, G-Power can offer more affordable variants. The price of the initial boost programme starts at €7,300 and allows increasing the power up to 507–560 hp. The company also offers packages with an output increase up to 600–700 hp.
