The current winners have already tasted victory. Last time Chevrolet Silverado became the best truck (the name they use for a pickup in the United States) in 2007. Corvette was the winner in 1998. The winners are chosen based on factors including innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value for the dollar. Corvette had to compete against two other finalists Cadillac CTS and Mazda 3. What concerns Chevrolet Silverado it defeated both Acura MDX and Jeep Cherokee crossovers. In 2013 the Cadillac ATS had the Car of the Year award and Dodge Ram 1500 was named the best among trucks.
