The British company Radical has revealed its all-new RXC Turbo. The company’s rather direct name can be clearly reflected in the cars it produces and its last masterpiece is not an exception. Let us remind that its previous model SR8LM had been Nordschleife lap time record holder for a few years already — 6 minutes 48 seconds. The new model has an upgraded engine, gearbox and braking system. However, it weighs more than SR8LM — the weight of the latter is only 650 kg while its output reaches 450 hp. In power to weight ratio the new model is considerably behind the old one. Technical innovations of the new Radical first of all concern the engine. The powerplant consists of a 3.5-litre 6-cylinder twin turbocharged Ford motor featuring direct fuel injection and variable valve timing. It produces 460 hp and 680 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via 7-speed sequential gearbox. Acceleration up to 60 mph (97 km/h) takes only 2.6 seconds and the car’s top speed reaches 297 km/h.
