Tesla Motors is considered to be the most innovative automaker according to the global list of top 50 most innovative firms this year.
The list was composed by the Boston Consulting Group. Apple has been number one for many years already. This time, two automakers were able to make it to the top 10 of the ranking.
The electric-car company Tesla sits seventh in the list, having entered it for the first time this year at number 41. It is followed by Toyota in 8th position (recognised for its research in the field of alternative energy sources). BMW and Ford ended up in 18th and 19th positions. The list also includes Volkswagen, Daimler, General Motors, Audi and Fiat.
By the way, the number of ready-to-innovate automakers is climbing down. Only 9 companies entered the top 50 rankings this year, compared to 14 car manufacturers who appeared on the list in 2013.
