Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne plans to step down in the end of 2018. The Italian-American auto group comprises such brands as Alfa Romeo, Abarth, SRT, Ferrari, and Maserati.
The 62-year-old Marchionne has been running the company since 2004. Quite soon he plans to retire, although he has no intention to idle his time away. However, it remains unclear, what exactly he is going to do. He says that maybe it’s time to engage in philosophy.
“Let some of the young punks do it”, Marchionne told Automotive News. Meanwhile, he is contemplating who of the current senior executives could take his place.
