Honda will reveal its new hybrid engine during the Japanese Grand Prix. The company will use it in its return to Formula 1 with McLaren next year.

Honda’s return to Grand Prix racing is scheduled for 2015. In the meantime, the Japanese company is busy preparing for the premiere, as it really has to give a fine account of itself. A sneak preview film will be shown for the first time at Suzuka this weekend on the Honda stand, however, the first teaser images of the hybrid V6 powerplant have already been released.

«Working toward Honda's F1 participation starting in the 2015 season, development of the power unit is entering its prime phase at our R&D facility in Sakura (Tochigi, Japan), where we transferred our automobile motor sports development earlier this year”, said Honda's motorsport chief Yasuhisa Arai. „In addition to conducting simulations, we have moved onto the next stage where we conduct full-fledged bench tests of the engine while connecting the turbocharger and energy recovery systems.“

The company assures that the work progresses on schedule and they will be ready to demonstrate the first video of their 2015 power unit this weekend.
