There are more and more rumours about the new much-anticipated Nissan GT-R, which is due to arrive only in 2018.
The new-generation GT-R supercar will have its premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show. Quite recently, the company has revealed its virtual prototype specially designed for a video game. In the meantime, there is new information available.
According to a report from Motoring that didn’t reveal any sources, the exterior of the new model will be much less aggressive than that of its predecessors. On the other hand, it will feature a carbon fibre body built around the same technology as used for the “24 hours of Le Mans” prototypes.
As a reminder, under the bonnet the supercar will carry a 3.8-litre turbocharged engine and an electric motor. It will produce a total output of some 785 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. The current six-speed gearbox will be replaced with an eight-speed automatic.
Anyway, before launching production of the new Nissan GT-R in 2018, the company has plans to reveal the prototype next year.
