Peugeot decided to make proper preparations for the Paris Motor Show and created a sports car. Apparently, it’s aimed to replace the quitting-the-stage RCZ.

Dubbed the Quartz, the SUV concept is fitted with a hybrid powertrain delivering 499 horsepower. It will comprise a 270-hp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and two 115-hp electric motors.

It seems like the “lions” have not been wasting their time. By the way, both electric motors are used for propulsion and charging the 400V battery during deceleration. Sure enough, the hybrid powertrain can operate in a full electric mode and together with the internal combustion engine.

There is just one slight mismatch in the approach used by the French carmaker. On the one hand, the body is built using recycled plastic. But that’s about it when talking about environmental care, as on the other hand, the car’s interior is trimmed with genuine leather. Well, at least it’s not frog leather, as otherwise, it would have made the car too French.
