Peugeot decided to drop the second-generation RCZ sports car and devote their time to developing new sporty models.
“Our brands need sports cars, but they’ll be more sporty derivatives than bespoke models”, Carlos Tavares, CEO of PSA Peugeot-Citroën, commented on this decision.
The first-generation RCZ is still in production at the moment; however, the line will be discontinued in the nearest future.
This decision seems a bit irrational, as the high-performance Peugeot RCZ R version has been revealed as recently as this summer. The car was fitted with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine
