To make the trip less boring when there is no picturesque beauty of the Pyrenees or the Alps meadows outside or cheerful Mexican desert cacti or extreme serpentine along the Mediterranean coast a beautiful music has to sound in the car. And what if the sound quality is brain-blowing brilliant ?!
In 1998, the Autolux company's specialists built a Nissan Terrano II with a very powerful sound system. Their «bluesmobil» had four amplifiers, six speakers, nine subwoofers — and all of these things produced unbelievable 147 decibels of sound. The pressure at which your liver do not only shakes but starts dancing together with the universe. Then the Russian company set a new record, breaking the previous one of 135dB established in the United States.
How to achieve that quality of sound which helps your soul to fly away? Simply saying, the professionals recommend to take in account all the components and specifications o f every car and to choose parts depending on the interior dimensions. It's like the exact recipe — strictly according to instructions, but at your own taste and you will be happy. Each speaker is a great resonator. Of course, if they are purchased in special stores. Definitely the location of the speakers should be well-thought and high-quality sound insulation makes the sound cleaner.
A significant number of autosound records are sett in Russia. Why? Maybe because of the dull landscape of vast broad fields of our country, though there are lots of beautiful places, maybe because of the long traffic jams on the roads or thanks to talented people, able to assembly a sound blasting car.
Such cities as Voronezh, Omsk and Novosibirsk flashed over the last decade among the Russian auto shows, where the success is calculated in decibels.
In Novosibirsk, a usual van was presented with an unusual sound system that produces 169 decibels, which is more than taking off jet plane. Its owners spent months working hard in the garage, achieving high-quality sound.
In Voronezh, the sound power of one of the presented cars very high and this caused an interesting story. Meanwhile Deep Purple were preparing to their concert the owner of the car switched the music on…the people hurrying to the concert hall, thought that the show has already begun. They were very surprised when it was discovered that a humble Russian car, and not a legendary rock star can produce such sound.
Sergei Kostin from Voronezh as well, developed a sound system, which is powered by a separate power supply, and it has to be recharged very often. But it sounds magnificent!
And one more participant from Voronezh, says that every day he drives in silence. He enjoys sound only during the competition and in everyday life he takes a rest. Looks like it is the passion to beat other's records.
But that's not all. Our sound fans are famous throughout the whole Russia. News article from the year 2005 says «Car sound sensation in Omsk! In Ekaterinburg the capital of the Urals in September 10 was held a grand Autosound Competition „Ural Sound“. It was the final stage of the sound championship of the season, which had 143 participants from eighteen cities of Russia where a new domestic record was set. Participants competed in sound quality (FSQ) and the maximum sound pressure (SPL) of its vehicles. A culmination of the „Ural Sound“ fest was „KS-Sound“ — sound quality team competition between the teams from Moscow, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Tyumen and Ekaterinburg. In a hard struggle Omsk team took the first place. »
And in 2006, the city of Omsk became official Autosound capital in Russia. And though it is said that the judge becomes more and more complicated: machines are more expensive, sound systems become cooler, installation is more and more interesting, still there happen unique settings: amplifiers hidden away under the seats, subwoofers instead of a spare wheels, and one Ford Expedition from Chelyabinsk has subwoofer hidden in the form of a massive armrest between the front seats and provides 148.3 decibels.
The most interesting cars at that show were catchy Chrysler Crossfire in high-tech style by «Alarm Service» team and «GAZ M1», named «Python». And the exclusive Porsche 911 team «Autotechcenter +» impressed over 15 000 Omsk citizens with unconventional technical solutions. Installers managed to squeeze in a little sports car trunk almost all audio equipment, retaining all the useful trunk volume.
And in 2013, spectators saw an unprecedented miracle in Omsk. In the car audio show was introduced Prolozaurus!
The main car sound record in Russia was set in 2012. Again the city of Omsk, filled with festive atmosphere when the car owners are ready to open the door and switch the music on, testing eardrums of the people, an acoustic system made 179.1 dB, and the first measurement showed unbelievable 178.6 dB. The official record and the award earned the “Stradivarius” team.
And the we are just a bit behind the United States. In 2006, the Americans set a world record for car audio, which we will tell you soon in one of our coming materials.
