The new Jaguar XE sedan will be unveiled in several weeks, while its high-performance version is yet to undergo testing.
The “hot” XE is due to arrive in 2016. Like the Range Rover Sport, the high-performance Jaguar XE will feature the SVR letters in its name. It will be fitted with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 delivering around 490 hp, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Its transmission has been revised and now it boasts of faster shifts. While nothing is official, the model will be likely to sprint to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.
It is equipped with a limited slip rear differential, powerful brake system, and stiff suspension. Ground clearance might be reduced. The high-performance version will possibly gain an active exhaust system.
The XE SVR will set off to the testing track in the nearest future.
