New BMW Motorsport program includes endurance races — the world championship WEC and, of course, a marathon «24 hours of Le Mans.» The factory team will come up with the season 2018 (delayed break — in 2011).
The BMW brand will be represented in the highest Touring Car class LM GTE Pro. Accordingly, the Bavarians will have to compete with Porsche, Ford, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Chevrolet.
Team members is not yet known. As for the car, then presumably it will be either the M6 racing coupe, sedan or M5. Tests on the track will begin next summer.
Recall that in July of this year, BMW announced its partnership with the Andretti team and participate in the «Formula E», where the Bavarians intend to start in 2018.
