Judging from the appearance of the prototype hatchback C3, it is absolutely consistent with the new regulations of the WRC (the company intends to return to the World Cup in 2017). But, according to Autocar edition, before the start of fighting in the exterior of the machine still will be some changes.
The prototype on the 202 mm longer and 55 mm wider than its predecessor DS3 WRC (dimensions new items — 4150h1875 mm) and the weight is 25 kg lighter (1175 kg).
Under the hood Citroen C3 WRC is 380-hp 1.6-liter turbo engine (plus 80 hp compared with its predecessor).
Recall that in accordance with the new regulations all WRC cars will have an active center differential and engine power increase due to increase in restrictor size from 33 to 36 mm.
In the season 2017 in the WRC prepared to make four factory teams — Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai and Citroen. However, the composition of the French manufacturer teams have not yet fully formed. We only know that one of the drivers will be Briton Kris Meeke, already engaged in preparing the car for the championship.
