Company Mercedes-Benz undertook the development of a crossover called GLB, whose appearance would resemble the iconic SUV Gelandewagen. The new model will be smaller and cheaper (in Russian on the Mercedes G-class prices start from 6.65 million p.).
According to the British publication Auto Express, the market will be reduced Gelandewagen four years. It will be built on a new platform MFA2, in store for the same time and for the next generation hatchback A-class and the GLA crossover, whose debut is planned for 2018–2019).
From the A-class will get reduced Gelandewagen and engines. They will be the same as for the all-wheel drive 4Matic — 2-liter petrol and diesel «turbochetverki» capacity from 150 to 245 hp, and a charged version of the AMG will develop around 400 hp
Crossover, according to preliminary data, will be in two versions — a typical SUV with offroad packet.
By the way, this Gelandewagen also waiting for the technical upgrade, which however did not affect his charismatic appearance. The premiere is expected in late 2017.
