Jaguar built a one-off version of the F-Type R sports coupé in order to support the Team Sky cycling team in Tour de France.
Apparently, technical specs of a 550-hp F-Type R coupé have not been altered by the engineers of the new Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations division. Under the bonnet, it carries a “regular” 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine.
The sports car features special roof racks to carry two spare bikes. There is a special battery in the boot, which allows the racing team’s sports director to communicate with the rider.
The race will be held on July 26 and the black and teal sports car with the Team Sky logos on each side will cover the entire distance together with the cyclists.
