Volkswagen decided to give a helping hand to Porsche. Cayenne will be manufactured at VW’s plant, thus increasing the production level of a much-in-demand model.
By 2015, Porsche plan to produce around 200,000 vehicles per year, meaning its production has to be scaled up.
Up to 20,000 Cayennes will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Osnabrück. Porsche had to invest €25 million there. Well, it is not the first example of similar cooperation, as the same plant is assembling both the Boxster and the Cayman.
In the meantime, debut of the facelifted Porsche Cayenne will be made this autumn at the Paris Motors Show.
