Aston Martin has officially chopped the roof off its supercar. From now on, we can enjoy the V12 Vantage S roadster with a folding roof.
Unfortunately, the roadster is slightly inferior in performance characteristics to the coupé. Under the bonnet, it carries the same 6.0-litre V12 delivering 573 hp and 650 Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed Sportshift III gearbox. The premiere sprints to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, while the coupé does it in 3.9 seconds. Its top speed is 323 km/h; the coupé is a bit faster — 328 km/h.
The new roadster features a two-stage ABS set-up and a three-stage dynamic stability control system with adaptive suspension and carbon ceramic brakes.
Carbon fibre is used in car’s interior. One of the striking features of the exterior is the new radiator grille, which resembles the style of a СС100 Speedster concept car. The V12 Vantage S boasts of all new interior finishes on seats, doors and controls.
There is no word regarding the price of the roadster yet. It will go on sale in the end of this year and the customers will be able to opt for an additional carbon fibre trim.
