The boosted version of the Bentley Mulsanne sedan is most likely to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October. AutoExpress reports about an upgrade the Mulsanne will get with reference to British manufacturer’s boss Wolfgang Dürheimer.

Under the bonnet, it will carry a 6.75-litre 8-cylinder turbocharged engine with its power boosted from 505 to 550 hp. There is no information regarding its performance characteristics so far, however, the stock version, which weighs more than 2.5 tonnes, sprints to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. According to preliminary information, the upgraded model should be able to hit 5 seconds. The car will lose weight just slightly; however, its suspension will be readjusted.

The company decided to start producing a sports version of the Mulsanne sedan due to Bentley's racing success in this year’s European endurance races — the Blancpain Endurance Series. Scoring more victories will lead to another increase in horsepower.
