Ford and Intel developed Mobii — a system, which recognises the driver and loads his personal settings. It will not let any strangers get behind the wheel.
There is even a punishment for those who desperately try to sit in the driver’s seat. No, it’s not electricity. The system will take a picture of the unauthorised driver and send it straight to the car owner’s phone. If the real owner commits the steering wheel to another person, there will be no problem. However, he might refuse as well.
The driver can choose such parameters as the number of passengers, the volume of audio system, and duration of engine running time. Therefore, life should be planned and scheduled. An on-board video will be available at any time.
Only a prototype of this system has been developed so far. There is no word yet about the date when it enters production.
