How to draw attention of high-speed enthusiasts? Well, obviously by hinting at elite motorsports. Think bigger, at the “queen of motorsports”! Lotus decided to build a special edition of the Exige S sports car and name it LF1 to pay tribute to its Formula 1 team.

Special edition will be limited to 81 units to symbolise all those race cars, which were taking part in the World Championship starting from 1960 and up to 1981. It will still feature black and gold livery but will also have a few red accents on rear-view mirrors, spoiler, and front splitter; however, spoiler mounting and wheels will be painted gold.

Lotus Exige S is fitted with a 350-hp six-cylinder Toyota engine mated with six-speed manual transmission. It takes it 4 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h, while its top speed is electronically limited at 274 km/h.

Sports car’s interior also features a black and gold colour scheme and has a carbon fibre plaque with the car’s individual number. The LF1 comes standard with the Race Pack, which comprises Dynamic Performance Management system with launch control, high performance brake discs, optimised suspension, and Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tyres.

The car comes with a replica of F1 driver Romain Grosjean's helmet (though only a 1:2-scale replica), a tour for two people of the company's production plant in Hethel and the Lotus F1 Team headquarters at Enstone, a discount on Lotus' accessories, and several other bonus items.
