Honda gets back to its basics. The company plans to revive the S2000, S660, and NSX models and get them back on the production lines. The models will be upgraded, with all three of them made mid-engined.

According to Auto Express, in 2015 there will arrive a small S660 roadster, which should become the successor of the Honda Beat. It will be fitted with 65-hp 3-cylinder engine coupled with a continuously variable transmission.

Next will come the hybrid supercar Honda NSX, which will also be produced under the Acura brand. This one will feature a 3.5-litre V6 with two electric motors. If everything works out well, the premiere will also hit the Russian market.

In 2017, the S2000 roadster is going to transform into coupé. The premiere will borrow a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine delivering 350 hp from the next Civic Type R. It will take the S2000 about 5 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h.

It’s still unclear why Honda decided to make a comeback to good old models, but maybe it’s easier to revive them than produce something new.
