Everything good comes to an end sometime. Last year the German supercar manufacturer Wiesmann faced with bankruptcy and put all its effort into searching for investors. But all for nothing — employees are fired, there are only six tin soldiers left.
As reported by De Telegraaf, Wiesmann has already given up: «There is simply no money. There have been investor calls. But the money is just not there. We therefore do not know what is really going to happen», said one of Wiesmann’s employees who was left unpaid.
The last work revealed by the engineers was a track coupé MF4-CS. It is fitted with a 4.0-litre petrol-powered engine which delivers 420 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The coupé sprints to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited at 293 km/h.
By the way, the company ran into debt to suppliers of spare parts, and the owners of sports cars have to get their service maintenance done at the BMW.
Unfortunately, it is not the first case of bankruptcy among supercar manufacturers. Artega and Melkus have also gone this way, Gumpert was within a hair's breadth of failure but then fortune smiled upon it and sent investors. Well, from now on Wiesmann is also just a part of history.
