The MINI Paceman pickup has been revealed. BMW apprentices built a pickup on the base of the Paceman Cooper S crossover. The news came from the representatives of MINI.

The pickup features a 184-hp petrol-powered engine under its bonnet. There is still an open question concerning transmission. Production crossover offers either a six-speed automatic or manual gearbox. The concept car was fitted with the all-wheel drive system ALL4, a greater ground clearance, and modified chassis elements. You can set off for an expedition to some of the most remote areas on our planet behind the wheel of this ‘half-cargo’ MINI as it is equipped with a snorkel, additional lights on the roof and front bumper, and a roof rack. The only thing missing is the winch.

However, there is only one Paceman Adventure, which is the actual name of the pickup, and there are no plans for series production yet. So the expedition has to be postponed for a while. Nevertheless, the plans might change, as the car has been officially made street-legal. Taking into account the passion of the Americans for this body type, it’s possible to assume that the production might be launched quite soon after the marketing research.

There is probably no connection, but the news about the pickup produced by Mini appeared together with the information from the Russian AvtoVAZ which plans to launch production of a pickup based on Largus. The truth is, it’s all much more simple and practical here. There used to be a Moskvitch with similar body. Meanwhile, the market of light commercial vehicles has not been fully explored yet.
