News feed is full of stories about the new SUVs by Maserati, Bentley, and Lamborghini. But McLaren still wants to focus on sports cars only and is not going to launch production of SUVs. It was stated by the company’s CEO Mike Flewitt at the Beijing Motor Show. “We genuinely believe we make the best sports cars in the world”, said Flewitt in an interview with trade journal Automotive News.
According to auto.vesti.ru, things are not going too well for McLaren. Last year the company sold around 1,400 sports cars; this year it has a target of about 1,600 cars. And only by the year 2017 McLaren plans to sell about 4,000 vehicles annually. The company decided to produce one new sports car per year and the first one will be the P13 model we have already told you about.
The key point is that the company is not chasing general trends but sticks to building sports cars. McLaren is a “proud bird”... Hopefully, choosing their own path does not lead to bankruptcy.
