Mercedes-Benz showed the interior of its future GT supercar created by its AMG division. Based upon the teasers, it features aviation-style design — fascia, centre console with eight control units and round ventilation deflectors. Mercedes claims this model to be more successful and functional than the SLS AMG. The premiere might firmly establish itself in the market niche of comfortable Gran Turismo coupés.
There is no official word about the AMG GT platform or the powerplant yet but most probably the car will be fitted with 8-cylinder AMG engine. Earlier it was claimed that it would be a direct competitor to the Porsche 911 and the customers would be able to opt for three engine types with the power in the range of 340–590 hp. As a matter of courtesy, supercars should feature adjustable suspension and at least four engine and transmission modes.
Gran Turismo or sports car with aviation-style interior is going to look gorgeous and up-to-date. The car will be put into space this autumn so we will not have to wait long.
