Lexus will unveil its new crossover at the Beijing Auto Show. The company has officially confirmed this premiere and released a teaser image of it. The NX model will have the upgraded Toyota RAV4 platform and its own powerplant lineup. Previously the concept was demonstrated in two variants — fitted either with a hybrid powerplant or the 2-litre turbocharged engine with direct injection. There is no word yet which engine Lexus is going to choose.
According to auto.vesti.ru, most probably the production crossover will be equipped with both types of the powerplants and will have the NX 300h and NX 200t models. It will also feature both front-wheel and all-wheel drive modifications.
The premiere is likely to make it to the dealerships this year already, however, there is not much information about the new car available making it difficult to understand whether it is going to be competitive with other crossovers which are so popular nowadays. But on the other hand, it’s the Lexus. By the way, the company also plans to reveal the Lexus RC F at the show intended for the Chinese market.
