There is some information about the four-door version of an Audi TT. “Could the TT be extended as a family car?” asks the Audi technical chief Ulrich Hackenberg. But as reported by the Autocar magazine, despite of a question mark it sounded more like a hint on expending the company’s lineup.
Right now the sales of coupés and TT roadsters have gone down in Europe. According to bfm.ru, last year there was a 31% decrease in sales activity and the entire segment of compact sports cars has dropped by 21%. As opposed to that, the demand for small premium models has increased.
The company has nothing against new experiments, especially since they already have experience in building the so-called 4-door coupés — Audi A7 and A5. So it seems Audi is capable of creating a sedan based on the sports TT coupé.
