In 2014 Mitsubishi will celebrate the company’s 40-year presence in the UK. On this occasion a special edition of 40 units of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-440 MR with boosted power will go on sale. Evo X will be equipped with 2-litre turbocharged engine producing 440 hp at 6,800 rpm and 560 Nm of torque at 3,100 rpm. Needless to say, it has an all-wheel drive layout and features a six-speed twin clutch sports shift transmission (SST).
The suspension has been lowered — it is now 35 mm lower in the front and 30 mm lower in the rear. It feature an HKS turbo unit, intake piping kit and tubular manifold by Janspeed, sports fuel injectors, Alcon braking system and also bi-xenon headlights with adaptive front-lighting system, front fog lamps and PIAA motorsport silicone windscreen wiper blades. Also add 18-inch forged BBS wheels to that.
The car’s interior also has some changes — Recaro bucket seats and Rockford Fosgate premium audio with 8 speakers, subwoofer, etc. The Evo will come in one colour only — Frost White. The exclusive model will be priced at £50,000.
Interesting to know is that all 40 cars will be fitted with a data recorder, which is going to collect data on the driving style, vehicle performance and diagnostics. This information should be provided to Mitsubishi if the owner wants to have warranty maintenance for his FQ-440 MR. Feels like visiting a doctor’s office.
