Quite soon the representatives of the road services will take the brushes and redraw the road surface marking. It concerns the parallel parking in the first place. As it turned out, the Rosstandard has introduced the new standard according to which the length of the parking lot for one vehicle is reduced from 7.5 m to 6.5 m.
According to Anastasiya Pisar, the media relations officer at the Traffic Management Centre (TMC), the new standards came into effect on February 28: “We will start making changes in the parking lot marking in the spring-summer time from April to August during the period scheduled for the road surface marking renewal”. The width of the marking has not been changed so far and it is still 2.5 m. It must be said that the so-called herringbone parking layout has not been subject to change and is still set at 5 m.
Road surface economy will spread not only all over Moscow, but the entire Russian Federation, giving the road service workers another possibility to get into the spirit of abstract art and contemplate the paintings of Kazimir Malevich.
