BMW will unveil its premieres at the New York Int’l Auto Show including the BMW M4 Convertible. The motor show officially starts on April 19 and will last through April 27. As it was previously stated, BMW is to reveal its all-new X4 crossover which is based on the new X3. What concerns the sports division, here comes the M4 (on photo); however, it is going to be a convertible instead of a coupé.
Unfortunately, there is no word yet regarding the folding roof — which variant had been chosen by the engineers. M4 Convertible features almost the same powertrain as the coupé — 6-cylinder turbocharged engine coupled with seven-speed automatic transmission. What concerns the technical specs of the M4, the engine is able to deliver 431 hp and it takes 4.1 seconds for the coupé to sprint to 100 km/h. According to auto.vesti.ru, the convertible is going to be a bit slower. However, it will inherit the M4’s wider track, readjusted rear suspension, active rear differential and some of carbon fibre body parts.
There is no information when the company is going to launch sales of the convertible in Russia. So far the Russian dealer accepts orders for the M4 coupé, setting the initial price of 3.3 million RUB (approx. €65,000) for a standard version, while the customers have an option to change the trim level.
