Mercedes-Benz revealed its newest reincarnation of the Viano minivan and R-Class combined. According to the company’s representatives, the all-new Mercedes V-Class will provide 8 passengers with the comfort of an S-Class.
The exterior of the new V-Class was brought into compliance with the corporate identity of all current range models with due account for the characteristics of a large and high body. As stated by the Mercedes-Benz representatives, the minivan’s interior also fully matches the style of other vehicles of this range. Therefore, a driver who is going to change seat to a V-Class from any Mercedes-Benz sedan or crossover will almost immediately feel at ease and will get accustomed to the new car really fast.
There are going to be lots of variants of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. The major variables comprise two types of wheel base, three variants of body length, different number of seats in the passenger compartment. V-Class can seat as many as eight passengers but there is also a baseline version with 4 individual seats with a lot of space for the passengers in a business-class manner.
It is powered by a 2.1-litre turbo diesel in three modifications - 136, 163 or 190 hp (330, 380 or 440 Nm correspondingly). The first two variants are fitted with manual transmission and seven-speed automatic goes for the top version. Manual transmission can be changed to automatic on the pre-order basis.
The entertaining part in a Mercedes-Benz V-Class has also changed. It will be equipped with Comand, the latest generation of the multimedia system with voice-operated control. The multi-zone climate control will provide the passengers with comfort. Smooth ride will be guaranteed by a huge number of electronic driver’s assistants borrowed from an S-Class. The higher models will be also featuring Crosswind Assist system which helps the driver to stabilize the vehicle in strong gusts of crosswind.
Minivan can be ordered in Europe starting from March, world-wide sales will begin in May.
