Audi has revealed a special edition of the mid-engine R8 Competition supercar, which has become the most powerful production car in the company’s history. The model was able to earn this lofty title due to its uprated engine.
The R8 Competition is fitted with a 5.2-litre V10 delivering 570 hp coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It jumps to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. This and the top speed of 320 km/h make it the fastest production R8.
The car is fitted with a sport exhaust system and carbon ceramic brakes. Its exterior styling is reminiscent of the R8 LMX special edition. Front spoiler, rear wing and diffuser, flaps on the front bumper and mirror caps are all made of carbon fibre. R8’s interior is also trimmed with carbon fibre.
The overall look of the Audi R8 Competition is rounded off by gloss-black wheels.
